What time does the morepork breed ?

 Moreporks breed in summer and spring Nests are usually placed within cavities of live or dead trees, within broken logs, in a tree fork or within a hole in an earth bank, including in petrel burrows.

Are they herbivores or meateaters?

The morepork is not a herbivore because it eats mammals . the Moreporks catch and consume a wide variety of small animals, including large insects, small birds, and small mammals. The diet varies with season, generally in proportion to abundance of prey species. Insects taken include huhu beetles, weta, cicadas and large moths. And it does not eat any herbs

Where was these birds found?

is the only remaining native bird in New

zealand apart from the barn owl Moreporks are widely distributed throughout the native and exotic forests of New Zealand. They are uncommon in the drier eastern regions of the South Island, especially south of Christchurch. They also occur in more open areas where suitable patches of vegetation remain including sparsely-wooded farmland, and within some urban parks and gardens

What do they eat mostly ?

Large insects and wetas and small mammals as mice and little rats and

littler birds Also moths and Cicadas and lots of bugs that it can find

And any small mammals it can digest properly

Are they endangered?

The morepork is not endangered still

Today because it is a predator and it's only Fear is humans

And it is rare in towns it's more in the mountains

how many eggs do they lay ?

The female morepork lays 1-3

Eggs takes about 25 days, and chicks fledge

when about 7 weeks old. Both adults feed

the young. And it takes baby bird takes about

25 days to break open

1. I did well because I tried my best and gave everything a good try and I knew that I did good.

2. I did not achieve my goal because my goal was to come first, second or third, but I came second to last; but I knew it did not matter, it only mattered if I gave it a good try.

3. I tried my best even if I knew there were some things I had not done before

and I knew I was not good at the sport. And it was challenging because there was a lot of competition between the people that were good at the sport.

4. I know that I did well at discus because I threw it really far; but not as far as some people, but it was easy compared to other sports like high jump because I was good at throwing the discus and I got a good throw

5. The high jump was challenging because I was not good at it and I had never done it before and I did not know what foot I am; I knew I was not going to make it because I had never done it before; but I still gave it a good try

6. I’m proud that I did my best in discus, the 50 metre race, shot put and

that. I didn’t give up at all and I achieved to be able not to come last in any of them. I am also proud that Rimu beat Rata in the relay race.

Art Attack

My goal was to ... Create an artist inspired artwork base on the Koru art of New Zealand artist Raewyn Harris

What did i learn to...  How to draw a koru flower, and what a koru is. Also to use complementary colours to make them look good together.

My next step is .... To put more design into my photos, pictures and drawings.
